OUR HISTORY

Since 1963 the Friesen family has been in manufacturing as the original founders & owners of Meridian Industries near Morris, Manitoba. In 1988, “Friesen of Iowa” was opened in Storm Lake, Iowa where the Friesens quickly became leaders of the bulk seed movement with the development of the Friesen Bulk Seed Tender - changing the seed handling industry forever. In 2004, after years of growing Friesen of Iowa (Friesen USA) as a leader within the seed equipment market, the Friesen family sold Friesen USA to a corporate ag group well established within the industry.

In 2007 Harvest International was launched in Cherokee, Iowa, bringing all of the innovation, quality, and trust from the Friesens’ long history in manufacturing into the grain auger and strip till toolbar markets. In 2011, with strong growth in grain augers and an emerging strip till & planter toolbar division, Harvest International moved all operations to Storm Lake, Iowa into a brand new state-of-the-art manufacturing facility. Featuring custom assembly lines and truly cutting edge technology, this new facility put Harvest International in a perfect position to grow and adapt for many years to come.

In 2016 Harvest International unveiled the innovative LaserPro1 planter row unit and was met with immediate success - vaulting the entire planter division into a whole new era. By 2017 the decision was made to sell the grain auger & belt conveyor division and refocus entirely on strengthening the toolbar & row unit division. Over the course of the next few years, Harvest International rapidly developed an impressive family of toolbar and row unit models, firmly establishing a reputation for industry leading quality with a focus on meeting the needs of the growers they serve.

Today we at Harvest International are more excited than ever to be manufacturing ag equipment in America. With our ever-growing and diversifying product lines, we will continue to bring innovative solutions to real challenges experienced in the field.
